In conjunction with Time Out International, Ink Publishing announces the launch of Time Out Singapore, the most comprehensive arts, entertainment and listings magazine Singapore has ever seen. The monthly magazine will be available at newsagents throughout the city, as well as in selected hotels and tourist offices, with the first issue hitting shelves on 1 March, 2007. The cover price will be S$3.95 with an expected monthly readership of 120,000.
As one of the world’s most successful and reliable city information providers, Time Out is instantly recognisable as an authoritative source for savvy urban consumers around the world. With 38 years’ experience as a leading independent publishing house, it is continually expanding its international offices, print and online offerings.
Gerry Ricketts, Managing Director of Ink Publishing Singapore, said: “Time Out Singapore will offer an unprecedented opportunity to advertisers – if they’re looking to connect to high income earners, consisting of Singaporeans and expats as well as tourists, this magazine is the ideal place to target them. The Time Out Singapore reader is by no means your average consumer – they are well educated, socially active, love to explore and are far more likely to spend money on themselves.”
Ricketts continued: “Time Out Singapore Editor Billie Cohen comes to us from Time Out New York, where she has spent the past nine years writing and editing her way through nearly every area of that magazine, from penning the smallest event listings to producing acclaimed, high-profile feature stories. She has Time Out running through her veins and is thrilled to be working alongside a talented team of locals to bring this new magazine to Singapore.”
Michael Keating, Ink Publishing Group Editorial Director, commented: “We are very excited to be working with Time Out, which has an incredible ability to get under the skin of a city and really tap into the local scene. Time Out Singapore will include independent and impartial views and reviews on everything that's great in the city, plus up-to-the-minute food and drink, shopping, nightlife, music, cultural events, art and live performance listings. It will give locals and visitors a whole new perspective on the Singapore they thought they knew.”
Cathy Runciman, Time Out International Managing Director, said: “We are delighted Ink will be producing Time Out in Singapore - the 19th city to join our international network of magazines. Ink has extensive experience producing city guides for their 27 publications and we believe they have the talent and ambition to cast a fresh light on Singapore and produce a publication we’ll be very proud of.”
Dr. Chan Tat Hon, Assistant Chief Executive (Leisure) at the Singapore Tourism Board, commented: "One of the most important groups of visitors to Singapore are the independent travellers. Young professionals from the region, in particular, are taking increasingly frequent breaks at short notice, seeking events, entertainment and dining. This is helped by the growth in connectivity and capacity of the low-cost carriers flying into Singapore.”
“We are thrilled with the launch of Time Out Singapore, one of the world's most successful and respected travel guide brands. The launch is most timely and will help stimulate the growth of this group of visitors by providing in-depth and up-to-date information on Singapore’s exciting lifestyle and leisure choices," Dr. Chan continued.
From its features through to its consumer coverage and unique inside information, Time Out Singapore will be essential reading for anyone wanting to make the most of Singapore.
