Ink Publishing to publish monthly inflight magazine for Jetstar, Australia's fastest growing airline

Ink Publishing has been appointed to publish Jetstar, the inflight magazine for Jetstar Airways. The first issue of the relaunched magazine went onboard planes on 1 February. Jetstar is the fastest growing airline in Australia, with over 30% year-on-year growth in the number of passengers carried. In the first year of publication, the airline expects to carry nearly 7.5 million passengers.

The number of issues produced annually will increase from six to 12 in order to provide more comprehensive and up-to-date destination information and features for Jetstar's rapidly growing audience of loyal and frequent fliers.

Bruce Buchanan, Commercial Group General Manager of Jetstar, commented: "We chose to partner with Ink because they have the industry knowledge and creative experience to publish an amazing magazine. They understand the relationship between our passenger demographic, the destinations they are flying to and from and their more general interests. Our bold and distinctive brand is indicative of the fresh and vibrant approach toward low-cost travel in the region. Everything in this magazine is being created with our brand, our passengers and their requirements in mind."

Gerry Ricketts, Managing Director of Ink's Singapore office, commented: "From Darwin to Hobart and from Perth to the Gold Coast, the new magazine reaches a focused and affluent audience flying throughout Australia. With new flights starting to medium and long-haul destinations outside of Australia, passengers will have even more time to read the magazine."

Ricketts continued: "The new monthly Jetstar inflight magazine represents an incredible opportunity for advertisers. Jetstar's passenger demographic is much more focused than other airlines. This means advertisers wanting to connect to affluent and independent Australian fliers are getting huge bang for their buck. There will be very little advertising wastage and campaigns will be highly efficient in targeting the domestic market."

Michael Keating, Group Editorial Director of Ink Publishing, said: "We are delighted to add Jetstar to our family of Australasian airline clients. It's a lot of fun creating a magazine for a brand like Jetstar and we have enjoyed creating a monthly magazine that sets the creative standard in the Australian market."

By adding Jetstar to its extensive portfolio, Ink Publishing now publishes for airlines on four continents. This further galvanizes its position as the largest producer of inflight magazines in the world and strengthens its growing presence in the Australasian market, where the company now publishes eight magazines.
