Ink Publishing announced today it has been appointed to publish
the inflight magazine for Oasis Hong Kong Airlines, the rapidly
growing long haul carrier dedicated to making long haul travel
more accessible and affordable for both business and leisure
travellers. The first issue of the quarterly magazine will be on
planes 28 June, 2007.
Stephen Miller, Chief Executive Officer of Oasis Hong Kong Airlines, commented: “We reviewed the capabilities
and publications of a range of other HK and international publishers. Ink’s experience and the quality of their
products and service offering made them an obvious choice. They have robust editorial and sales capabilities on
the ground in all of our planned destinations.”
Miller continued: “At Oasis we are committed to delivering the highest quality experience from the moment
passengers step onboard to the moment they depart. We are planning to produce an innovative publication that
will inform and engage our passengers as a key aspect of our onboard service.”
Jeffrey O’Rourke, Chief Executive of Ink Publishing commented: “We are delighted with the talent we have
assembled in our Hong Kong office. This is still just the beginning for us in the region and we now have
two Chinese language magazines and seven magazines in Asia."
O'Rourke continued: "In Hong Kong, we are building one of the strongest inflight publishing teams found anywhere
in the world. It is our intention to raise the publishing standard in Asia for both airlines and passengers. Being
chosen by Oasis is testament to the quality of the team we already have in place in Hong Kong, our global
capabilities and our commitment to the greater China market.”
Stephen Wong (Wong Chi Ying), Managing Director of Ink’s Hong Kong office, commented: “We are gearing up to
produce a world-class title that will incorporate comprehensive destination content, showcasing the Oasis
destinations: Hong Kong, London, and other popular cities in North America and Europe. The content of the
magazine will be half Traditional Chinese and half English.”
Wong continued: “Advertising in this magazine will bring tremendous value to anyone looking to target Oasis’s
focused demographic of affluent international travellers. The airline offers both economy and business-class
travellers great value for money and every aspect of the magazine will be produced with the preferences and
interests of these groups in mind.”
Laura Ho (Ho Wing Man) has been appointed as editor. Ho was previously the features editor at Elle magazine
and more recently a project manager at Sina.com.hk, one of Hong Kong’s leading internet sites.
