Ink Publishing has been appointed to publish SkyEurope’s new inflight magazine.
With content produced in English and German and excerpts in Slovak and Czech, the first issue of Runway will be onboard planes as of the 1st of November, 2007.
Runway will cater to the tastes of hip, savvy, style-conscious travellers and will reflect the young, dynamic
and unique personality of SkyEurope by establishing itself as the authority on fashion and shopping across
Europe.
With a strong fashion focus as well as a travel and lifestyle slant, Runway will live up to its tagline: “fly with
style.” Creative elements will include beautiful fashion shoots on location, vibrant, trend-led fashion pages,
lively product pages (fashion items plus gadgets, books, CDs etc.) and Q&As with fashionistas and models
as well as fresh and engaging travel, lifestyle and fashion features. Runway will prove that style is not a
matter of money!
Dominique Afacan, Editor, said: “Runway will have its finger firmly on the fashion pulse with up-to-theminute
trend coverage, fantastic fashion shoots, and to-die-for products. Your wardrobe will never be the
same again”.
SkyEurope offers a superior passenger experience to its competitors. Freshly brewed coffee and delicious
food is served inflight and you might even see a catwalk show onboard the flights! 60% of passengers are
leisure traveler aged between 25-45, and tend to fly for the airline’s competitive prices and attractive
destinations. The remaining 40% of passengers fly mainly for business and choose SkyEurope based on
destinations and the frequency of flights.
Karim Makhlouf, Chief Commercial Officer of SkyEurope, said: “With our new stylish in-flight magazine I
want to underline our new positioning as a Business and Lifestyle Airline differentiating ourselves from the
other airlines. Runway is a new trendy magazine which combines the needs of travelling, lifestyle and
fashion.”
Mark Duke, Trading Director at Ink said: “SkyEurope flies to exciting European markets. We are looking
forward to producing an outstanding title for SkyEurope that will provide real value to advertisers looking to
get their message in front of their massive audience of urban and sophisticated business and leisure
travellers. As the vast majority of passengers are aged between 25-45, advertising in Runway will be an
extremely effective way to target this highly desirable demographic with laser focus, meaning little to no
advertising wastage.”
