Ink Publishing and Time Out Singapore today announced the official launch of TimeOutSingapore.com (www.timeout.com/sg/en/) – the online version of Time Out Singapore magazine and the most comprehensive website in Singapore for arts, entertainment and nightlife.
Julian Peterson, marketing director of Time Out Singapore, said: “During testing TimeOutSingapore.com has already seen a five per cent weekly increase in traffic every week since October 2007 – we are delighted to officially launch the most comprehensive arts, entertainment and nightlife website in Singapore.
“While many other publishers are running scared of the internet and only publishing tiny amounts of content or, even worse, attempting to charge for content, Time Out made a decision at the outset that all content from our magazine would be available online and for free. We have no credible direct competitor online in Singapore.”
“Advertisers have been quick to see the value of TimeOutSingapore.com and we have already signed up important companies such as Nokia, Mini Cars, The Esplanade, STA Travel, Pernod Ricard, Attica Nightclub and Midas Promotions.
Charlene Fang, editor of Time Out Singapore, said: “Just as in Time Out magazine, all editorial content on the website is 100 per cent independent – users know that they can trust our opinions.”
Georgia Reeve, online editor, said: “Events and features are continually updated on the website and we now have over 10,500 pages of free-to-view content. Recommended events can be viewed by type, such as Clubs or Art, or by venue, eg The Esplanade Concert Hall. We also have up-to-date information and reviews on more than 1,300 venues in Singapore. Users can make their own comments on events and venues. Finally, users can subscribe to our weekly newsletter in which we list our chosen events for the week ahead.”
The website is to be launched at a party at a secret location on Thursday 27 March, invitations to which are currently the hottest ticket in Singapore.
